Do heavily planted tanks give you the chance to overstock on fish?

btw. i have the female betta in there to get rid of fry... but let 5 of the mollies live? idk... lol...
I've always heard this before. If your tank is heavily stocked on plants, you can certainly overstock a tank without a problem.

I have a 30 gallon tank with the following fish:
6 neon tetra
1 female betta
4 guppies
4 balloon mollies
5 balloon molly fry
4 platy
6 cory cat albinos
1 mystery snail
1 ADF
Anubias
Hornwort
Mosco grass (or mondo...dont know)
drifwood
onion bulbs

if i were to add idk, more plants such as java ferns, java moss, etc... could i maybe add another 6 neons?

the tank has been running for 5 months now.

And is the rumor true? The heavier planted a tank is, the more you can stock on fish?
