I am hopefully getting a USB to 1/4" cable soon, and I want to start helping friends record since I want to go into Music Production I figured it'd be a good way to build up a portfolio of sorts. So my main question is that if a guitar distortion/chorus pedals and such work when you record straight into audacity or any other program. I figured it would if you take the Usb-1/4" cable into the output of a pedal and a 1/4'' - 1/4'' cable into the pedal and guitar.
Secondly whats the best way to record drums into one microphone? Its just a cheap mic that I have and I have used to record amps and vocals (Which i need to get a pop filter for). I was thinking suspended between the toms or tom and bass drum.
Any suggestions or tips?
