so today, i lost my rapala shad rap :( it was sad, a huge largemouth bass took it, rt when i was about to take it up, it broke my line and took the rapala with it. I'm wondering, now that i lost it and it's got the rapala in its mouth, is it doomed so that that will be stuck their forever, or will he rid that from his mouth and be able to stay alive?

It all depends on where it ends up on the fish. A lot of times the hooks will usually rust and fall out if it is hooked on the lip or doesnt interfere with it eating.

yes they do unless some how they managed to swallow the hooks. If so it will definitely die but the truth is if you had gotten the fish in and it swallowed the hook you hold have ended up causing so much damage getting it out it would probably die anyway. But in most cases having the back hook on your lure will land more fish so i wouldn't go running to take the back hook of your lure any time soon. however ALWAYS REMEMBER to replace you line when it becomes discolored, stretched, kinked, or exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time and has become brittle even though replacing line can be very expensive.
