Do fish sleep........?

Me and my boyfriend went out and bought a beta fish today. And I was wondering if fish ever go to sleep...or just go around the tank all day and night.

They do not sleep, but their bodies do slow down a lot. So, at night they are very sluggish sometimes. They will just float around in one spot; sometimes on bottom or sometimes on the top. Hope I helped!

They do sleep at night, but they don't lay down and "close their eyes". They stay still and look at nothing...since they don't have eyelids they can't close their eyes.

And I hope you're giving the Betta the proper care - at least a 2.5 gallon tank with a filter and heater.
