I was talking about this with my friend and we both pretty much agreed that fans don't admire players the way they used to. Why though? Everyone loved Micky Mantle and every kid wanted to be just like him. They would try to do everything like he did it but it doesn't seem to be like that anymore.
Do you agree and if so why? Are the players or the fans not the same anymore? Could the whole steroids issue have put a damper on the enthusiasm for baseball for a little while? I'm extremely curious to hear yoru opinions.
