Do either of these two families have a Book of Shadows?

Hi, my friend (whom does not have internet) wanted to find out if either of her parent's families were witches/had a Book of shadows (Kinda like a witches spellbook passed down over the years). These two family's name's are; 'Burgess' and 'DeCoste'.
Now, the reason she wants me to ask this, is because she's not suppose to discuss magic with her family. So, she is purley curious about all this.
Can anyone help?
