Recently I've started hiking with my 10 year old Lab - I guess they're really not actual hikes, it's just some trails through the woods, nothing difficult, and she does well with it. Some are pretty rocky though, and they all have a lot of mud and water.
I saw some dog hiking boots at Petsmart and I've seen a few dogs wearing them. I was just wondering how necessary they are. I'm worried about the rocks hurting her feet, and about her walking through puddles since it's getting colder out. On the other hand, I'm really not sure that she would tolerate the boots, and in my opinion dogs really weren't made to wear shoes.
Just wondering if I should buy them as a precaution or not.
