Do college students wear backpacks..plzz answer?

I'm going to college in the fall, and this college is in not in a city, meaing all my classes will be right there. I will be living on campus, so do i really need a back pack. In high school, we don't even need backpacks. So will I look stupid with a backpack on in college. Especially with the fact that I will be bringing a laptop
LOL..yea I know..it's just that in my high school, the majority of us don't even wear one. We just carry our books with our hands
 
Yes, most people do. For school this year I have a messenger bag that works great for me, idk I just dont like the whole look of a backpack.
 
I go to a community college and majority of the students wear backpacks. I wear a messenger bag. Some girls just carry their stuff in those big purses...which I never understood the reason for that.
 
People will most likely be wearing backpacks to carry laptops and stuff. Look up some pictures of your college campus on Google and see if the people in the photos are wearing backpacks.
