I was reading an interview with Dave Tate and he said that powerlifters don't need to do calf exercises because they get plenty of work from exercises such as squats and lunges. Another article said that calves grow in proportion to thigh muscles. Is any of that true? Almost all the powerlifting workouts I've seen don't have any calf work but powerlifters still have some pretty big looking calves so I am starting to think it is true.
