do bike shops air up tires for free?

if i were to ride to the shop would they air up my tires for free?
i dont have the money to buy a pump at this second. my tires arent flat just very low pressure where i have to pedal very hard. the gas station air pump doesn't fit my valve correctly so i was hopin the shop could do it free
