David Letterman? Some friends and I were debating whether or not bands that appear on late night shows just perform the song, but what you are hearing is just a live studio recording they are playing along to, but you aren't hearing the actual sound during the taping of the show, it is just practiced to look like they are really playing. I feel this just seems like a lot of work that is inefficient and discredits a lot a bands talent and work. But maybe they do?
