I have a little monster of a cat at home. I adopted her a year ago--she is a little vision impaired runt. She is 5. I just felt so sorry for her and she seemed harmless. She doesn't like to be help or anything which I can respect--not all cats are lap-cats. Sometimes I can get her to play with toys for a little while so she has potential. I realize a lot of her misery might be stemming from the fact that she wasn't born with visual impairment--it was a result of a u.r.i. which got really bad in her eyes, causing permanent corneal scarring. The problem is there are times I need to pick her up, such as a trip to the vet for shots, etc. She tore me apart. I've tried to approach her gently. I give her high-quality food, treats, etc. I reward her for good behavior. I encourage her to play so she's not bored. She is still a little monster though. The vet successfully clipped her back nails and she was pretty calm initially and then the monster came out. He nearly jumped through the roof. She is very strong for being such a tiny little runt. I just hate to give her back to the shelter for fear that she would not get adopted and possibly even put down at some point. I get her all kinds of things to scratch...posts, boards, etc., since it is impossible to clip her nails. I just can't figure out why after a whole year she is just as feisty and cranky as ever. I tried some herbal stuff from Petco in her drinking water but haven't noticed a difference. I am curious about the Bach Flowers.
