Do authors get paid everytime someone checks out their book?

I know the library buys the book. but does the author gets paid whenever someone checks it out? No, right?
 
No, the author does not get commission for each time their book is checked out. The author may still benefit financially, however, if their book is checked out frequently. If there is high demand for their book, the library might purchase several copies, thus sending more revenue in the author's direction.
