Do any other poets find themselves having trouble speaking?

I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like I have to think out everything I say, word for word, before I say something. I used to be able to speak clearly and effortlessly, but it's gotten to the point where I don't speak much at all anymore.

It may be that I just don't let myself relax enough to have a normal conversation. When I write, I think out each line before writing it, and I think that method has become a habit so that I can't speak without thinking out each sentence first.

If you're going to speak merely for the sake of speaking, instead of speaking because you have something to say, then that might be the root of your problem. Solution? Don't speak (or write) unless you have something worth saying.
