Do any Harry Potter fans want to help me?

Hey there,

I'm a film Student currently working on my dissertation focused on harry potter. I'm generally looking at the impact the books and films have made on the fantasy genre, whether they have significantly changed childrens literature/films in any way and the audiences general reception of the franchise. If anyones got anything I can add to my research (tips, factual statements or even just your own views about the books and films) I would greatly appreciate them, provided they aren't silly and dont just slag HP off. Thanks x :)
 
Have you read the editorials on MuggleNet? There's quite a lot of them, but some focus on your question and they are well worth reading (the more recent ones are much lengthier than the early ones but more of the early ones will answer your question)
 
You don't go into enough detail about what sort of comments you are hoping for imho.
I don't want to ramble on about my personal opinions of the books/films & then look a plonker cos you wanted something more "intellectual".
I will say though I am an avid fan & wait with baited breath for each new film/book. However I hated "The Order of the Phoenix" I did n't actually read it all the way through tbh. This was very out of character for me as I've read all the others 4-5 times at least. I even started wondering if JK had actually written it at one point, (that was when I was so frustrated I threw the book across the bedroom & have never opened it again).
I'm having a stand-off with Hubby about going to see the film, we both love the films too & it is our little treat to go on opening night with all the kiRAB & the cinema full. If it is as bad as the book I don't want to go :eek:.
Sorry I seem to have rambled on anyway!
