Or is it only Christians that do? (I know some Christians don't, but a lot of fundamentalists do because of a dude called Solomon who said if you spare the rod you spoil the child--mind you, he had seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines, so no doubt he ran into some discipline problems with the children from time to time...)
