Do Androids really exist?

I know this sounds silly. So far, the androids, which resemble human forms, that I have seen are only in a cartoon series called Dragon ball Z. But recently I had seen a video on internet in which in real life an android was made a nurse in a hospital. So, do you think its really possible? Do Androids really exist?
