...attraction to the main characters? And is this the main reason they choose to write it?
I only ask because the level of passion and detail contained in most of the stuff I read, esp. on fanfiction.net, leaves it hard to believe anything else.
Note: Do not answer this to tell me you find sexual attraction to cartoon children strange or disturbing. I know most people do, and I don't care.
It would also help if you had actually written SP fanfiction at some point or are doing so currently... otherwise, how would you know if there was a link between choosing to write it and finding the characters sexually attractive?
Sorry; referring to "main" characters in the title is negoitable - obviously I mean the ones being written about, so would also apply to Pip/Damien, Tweek/Craig, anything involving Butters etc.
I just get the impression that most "South Park fangirls" are more into either Stan, Kyle or Kenny... and very rarely, Cartman...
I know for a fact that a number of people who write SP fanfiction do feel sexually attracted to them - not just me.
I was wondering if it was a widespread thing though.
And yeah, I know a lot of "mainstream" anime fans find it weird; I've encountered this before.
Obviously most people don't get massively turned on by looking at drawings of symmetrical shapes - it involves imagination and attraction to their personalities.
With regards to paedophilic accusations; the main characters on the show are not played or voiced by real children and their level of intelligence and experiences are not comparable to those of real 9-year-old children.
Basically, the only fully childlike thing about them is the fact they go to school and even the information they learn there is very rarely appropriate for an actual fourth-grader i.e. it's often either celebrity gossip or of a much higher level.
