I have a 2008 3 with a 2.3 but not a heck of a lot of upgrades - have power windows and a sunroof - but no leather interior or power seats, etc.
Seeing as it's been broken into TWICE now (in about 9 months), I'm thinking I need to do something about an anti-theft system. I looked around the owner's manual and all I found was the following:
"Turning on the alarm
Pressing the panic button for 1 second or more will trigger the alarm for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds, and the following will occur:
-The horn sounds intermittently.
-The hazard warning lights flash."
My car knowledge is a little more than average for a girl but, to me that sounds like my car alarm will go off for 2 and a half minutes, not actually arm the car. Not sure what the point of that would be.
Anyone familiar with the car and whether it comes standard with an alarm? I'll be a bit bummed if not - I gave up my beloved 96 Camaro (w an adjustable touch sensor) to buy a new car with no alarm. Booooooo.
