I sit through yet another rant by NRL club CEO's and NRL officials (such as David Gallop) about poker machine taxes and smoking bans in leagues clubs and the impending doom of the sport.? Is there a similar rant in AFL circles?
If rugby league as a professional sport doesnt want to deal with the realities of being a business then officials should resign and help out the local juniors. Do they honestly expect general public sympathy, for a sport which receives massive tv revenue/sponsorships, that a leagues club has to lower its funding by a few thousand dollars.
Perhaps the arguement should be if it truely is such a strong sport why are so many clubs reling on a single source for such high percentages of their revenue? What exactly are they giving back to the members of those leagues clubs to justify those $'s
Reality of business, you cant spend more than you earn. If you cant earn more income learn to live within your budget, god knows millions of families do it every week
