Novice setting up new website w/blog companion. Want:
1) Portability (able to take/own site code with data if changing hosts)
2) DNS capability (must own my own domain)
3) Reliability and Affordability
I'm finding:
1) Some sites are easy to set up but cost more and offer less in terms of bandwidth and storage. These also have proprietary software so the coding is theirs.
2) Hard core hosts that require an IT degree to set up a site.
And not much in between. Is there a site anyone knows of that does all of the first three while letting an HTML challenged start up keep her options open?
Please don't write to advertise your own company. Of course, you think they are the best. I've looked at so many possibilities my eyes are crossed. I'm really ready for some solutions. Can you help?
