DnD, starting to play in limerick?

Ok, this year i have more time on my hands and i was thinking what i could do and so i came up with dnd. I used to play something in the style of a tabletop rpg with a couple of friends but it was more of messing around than playing.. i suppose it was the same :p but i really liked the idea. So know i want to try playing it "seriously" but i have no idea where to go and where to start...
I live in limerick, Ireland and i was just hoping someone could point me in the right direction

so
1. where can i start playing DnD in Limerick, Ireland ?
and
2. what i need to start playing ?
