DJ crew?

I just picked up a weekend job being a DJ's assistant for an entertainment company. Basically, I set up everything and play whatever he has lined up while he does the MC work, but then he handles the dancing part of the evenings while I fetch cRAB and play with the lights. He wants me to do it all, so I'm doing some reading online to get acquainted with everything and am currently trying to study beatmatching. I understand the concept but I'd like to hear solid examples, so if you can recommend anything that'd be great.

Also anyone have a few favorites that transition really well using upfaders (besides the bpm but similar vocal style and melody?) I'd love to get a few and play them/master it and eventually find my own.

Thanks.. if I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about it's because that's true

DJ tutor is awesome. Beatmatching in theory is easy, but in practice is actually quite difficult. It takes a lot of practice to get good at. What type of music are you looking for? EDM, techno, house, rap, trance, top 40 ect?

I started djing in January after researching it for years. (but never having the cash to actually buy equipment) I spin a lot of house music and I'd love to help out if ya want. Just PM me.

your probably not going to learn much about beatmatching with that company. those companies mainly mix genres 60's to modern music, so all the bpm is different. when I worked for a entertaining company they used a laptop and dj software that dj'd it self, while we eat the wedding or party food. i hated to work for that company cause it was boring, but it was diffenatly good experiance!
