dizziness

I'd like to offer my situation and see if anyone can provide any insight/thoughts. I am a 44-year-old male. Nearly two years ago, I experienced dizziness to the point where I couldn't function. Sometimes I'd vomit after time and the then I'd feel better. I saw numerous doctors(cardiologist and neurologist) and had numerous tests, but nothing was revealed (no brain tumor, thankfully). After these tests, I went through a period without any "epidoses". Now, just recently, the dizziness has returned, but to a lesser degree. Most often, it lasts just a minute or so and goes away. One day it lasted longer, but wasn't as severe. I just pause my day while I experience this feeling. Does anyone have any thoughts?

I am otherwise healthy. I get an annual physical. I do take thyroid medication (for hypothyroidism), but that's it.

Any feedback would be appreciated. There has to be something causing this nearly-daily dizziness -- even if just for a brief period.

Thank you.

Have you been to an ENT to see if there is something wrong with your ears....that's where your balance is located, and dizziness. Are you ears blocked or plugged?

My Mom has that problem and she had a Cartoid/Verterbal Arterial Doppler. It checks the blood flow in your arteries in your neck. Luckily her back ones were okay and the front ones had a 50% blockage, but 50 and under is acceptable.

I go to see a neurotologist at the end of this month to look for inner ear troubles. My dizziness is 24/7, only when I am up and moving around. When I sleep or lay down, it is fine. I would describe my dizziness as a surreal feeling - like a dream or looking through someone else's eyes or prescription glasses. It is so frustrating because I feel it is getting worse!

I'm glad your seeing an ENT. I have Meniere's disease ( inner ear ) and your symptoms describe that to a tee..

there is medication that can be taken, usually the first attack you have is the worst, and you described vomiting that goes along with the first attack.

I'm sorry to say that you will have some degree of it most of the time, its good that you can lay down and its not as bad.or goes away.. I would suggest when it gets bad that you get into a recliner ( if you have one ). and lay back at a
45 degree angle that will usually help... also cut back on salt and spicy foods, that is a big trigger ...

hope this helps

God Bless
