Don't EVER ask her to say "cheese" or just say "smile". Have a conversation and watch her expressions for the right moment. You can play catch, do something silly like put a toy on your head and have it fall off or play "slap me five" and let her win after a couple of attempts. Praise her!

Props...load her crib with stuffed toys and put her in the center.

Of my two-year-old?

It's just for fun.

I need tips & ideas for backgrounds, props, [CHEAP] equipment, ways to make her laugh, locations to take the photos?
FYI - I don't have a fancy camera or anything - just a regular Kodak digital camera

see that there is greenery behind. dress her with some extraordinary dresses. make her laugh by telling her funny stories, jokes which she can understand, make funny faces. see that her face is illuminated and bright due to sunlight.

Shoot at eye level. Window light can be very beautiful. Use a large aperture to blur the background. Have fun!
