"DIY MODS" and TRICKS to SAVE $$$$$$

They did some updates or changed the server, something like that. Don't remember exactly. What I did read was that when the did that they lost all the pics to that point. Read that around pages 20-25......

I just installed the adjustable back rest on a 2010 Ultra Limited. Saved $125 on Ebay plus the $75+ the dealer would charge. My suggestion to anyone else looking to do the same is to use a 1" bolt to mount the adjuster bracket/midframe faring. The kit has a 3/4" bolt which is fine for mounting either the bracket or the faring but not both.

Why are you painting all Harley shops with the same brush? Not very wise. Yes there are some shops that don't do good work, but there are also those that do excellent work.

You obviously have had a bad experience, but don't tell me that my Harley shop shouldn't be patronized when I know that they do great work. Speak to your own only.

I have had my dealer install many factory parts on my 2010 FLSTFB and have been quite happy with the results, plus which now they are covered under the full 2 year warranty.

Don't feel your comment is a fair statement.... I do all of my regular maintence, but don't hesitate to have the dealer work on it. the first service is a rip off, but thats all I will say about that.

JMHO

Really? I'll let mine work on my UC - although I do all the routine maintenance myself, it's NOT because I don't trust 'em - I just enjoy doin' it, and have the tools, books and knowledge to do it - AND know when to call in a pro. I've seen way too many Indies AND owners screw stuff over the years.
So....know who's gonna work on it, make sure they're qualified - but just because they work at a dealership doesn't make 'em fit - or unfit - to work on your scoot.

JEESE!
I thought this was a D.I.Y POST!
Funny how things go the other way sometimes!...

Need to take some pics later but I've got a new mod to show you guys.
Pretty sweet/easy/safety mod.
