I am currently going through a non combative divorce. I was serving in the USN in the south pacific on deployment, when I returned home my wife was pregnant with another man's child. So, we started the divorce paperwork. She is happy with her new man, I have moved on. We agreed on all portions of the divorce and we filed and were waiting on the divorce decree. I got a call from my attourney and he said the judge wanted more information about the pregnancy. I'm worried sick that I will have to, for some reason, take custody of this kid or something. How does this work? She doesn't want me listed as the father and I don't want to be listed as the father. The father knows who he is and he wants the child. Thanks anyone that can help. I'm just worried about this.
Also, the mother and I have 1 child together that we have shared custody of with a plan for me to take full custody after my college. We both agree on this as well.
