I don't entirely understand customs but from what I do know it looks like i've been overcharged.
The item I recieved was classified as "articles of wood - other" i looked it up on the list (to see the customs charge) through using the number they had listed it as (4421.90.90 - 99) which says that it should be 6% of the total value. value was $61.12 (canadian), total customs was $38.98 (canadian).
This seems a lot more than it should be. brokerage fee was $29.95 although it explicitly states that items from $40.01 to$100.00 have a brokerage fee of $19.45
Basicaly the customs should have been $23.12 + GST
Where should I go to dispute this?
