Why did they come to America? What did they contribute? How were their dreams realized? (or not realized)


just looking for some basic info.

when i say no one has yet to do that, i mean give me any examples

That you would like to show what were the contributions of immigrants in the past, why they assimilated to improve and energize a more unpopulated country and American society, and why now this is no longer largely true. You will find much more evidence that modern immigration (in the past 50 years) has been a negative thing, with the only "contribution" being further overpopulation, disease, overuse and destruction of natural resources, crime, lowering of Education standards, drain on tax-payers for healthcare and welfare benefits. Perhaps ask if you can posit that America and Canada should have a near total moratorium on immigration; permitting only those highly educated, skilled, and/or talented candidates. If you teacher stills wants 3 examples, compare the readiness/willingness to assimilate of the Irish, the Germans,or the Italians; to Mexicans.
