...at the time of its adoption? Please help I am stuck on this question for my Goverment Class!!! Thanks :)
 
The 3/5 compromise should fit here. You could also easily argue that any of the first 10 amendments could have been added at that time.
 
Understandable that it got mixed up and put in this section, but unless you want a whole bunch of (some very well informed and some less so) opinions about who adoption should be improved in the legal sense in the US...I would suggest moving this to the Government section.

and p.s.
1. child labor standards could have been put in place
2. women should have been able to vote
3. slavery should have been abolished
4. a national central bank should have been established
5. the commerce clause should have been more specific
6. separation of powers should have been written more clearly

your lucky i just finished my degree in political science.
 
Lol i'm guessing the word "adoption" flagged this question for the adoption section. You may want to remove the question and place it in the government section.
