Lottie is student activist who has been demanding the reinstatement of student grants. Her tactics are aggressive and have involved confrontation on several occasions with the police in respect of demonstrations. She has been arrested many times at demonstrations and she has criminal convictions for breach of the peace and minor criminal damage. She is stopped in her car on the way to a meeting in London concerning student grants. She refuses to answer any questions other than her name and address and demands that she be allowed to go on her way. The police search her car and find nothing of any interest. Lottie demands again to be allowed to go to the meeting but the police arrest her.
She is detained at the police station for two days before being charged with being a member of a terrorist organisation. She is later convicted.
