Well...the vampire is a very prominent part of literature. The vampire is a reflection of every humans desire to be dark and an object of attraction. Bram Stoker is a very well known author for his works in Dracula. In this novel he portrays the vampire as an interesting, dark, attractive being. So does Anne Rice, one of my personal favorite authors. She is mostly known for her Vampire Chronicles. The main character in the series is Lestat, who is a very attractive vampire rock star who reveals that he is a vampire to the mortal world. You should read The Vampire Lestat and Queen Of The Damned. And you have the all-to-popular Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. She portrays the vampire in a very different way. Instead of being dark, they're very angelic in a way. Although they are attractive in this series as well, the vampire is seen as a caring, loving creature who is very nearly human.
I hope I anwered you question, and I may sound like I have a degree in English literature, but Im a 14 year old Twilight lover! TEAM EDWARD!!!!!!!
