More confused

Guest
After 2 compressed fractured vertabras L1 L5 2 years of PT and all the injections required then more, I remain with pain.

My doctor ordered a discogram as I am proceeding with this process I was in so much pain during the procedure I buried my head in the pillow on the winged table, I did not hear the Doctor ask me any questions about the level of pain which was very painful.
On the doctors report there was a statement that i did not respond to pain on one disc but i did respond to pain on the other disc, which is untrue.

The report stated abnormal shapes of of T-12 L1 with abnormal issues in the L4-5 area.
My question is the ct scan shows annular tears in L4 L5 this was not noted on the report, the report did say the CT scan was not available at that time.

I am confused what about you?

I urge you to either contact the doctor who ordered the test, or the facility that did the report and explain to them the situation you described here. The discogram is a controversial test in that it is larger subjective and depenRAB on the response of the patient to the pain. Since you did not communicate your pain to the people administering the test, the results are not really reflective of what you were experiencing.

It is important to have this corrected in case you ever need to proceed with surgery. If copies of reports are sent to your insurance company to verify that you really need the surgery, an inaccurate report can really mess you up! Also if you were to go to another surgeon and have your recorRAB forwarded, you do not want to have an inaccurate report in your file. Now that more recorRAB are being transmitted electronically, you never know who may be looking at your file. Trust me. You want the whole file to be as accurate as possible. I learned this the hard way...and it almost cost me my most recent surgery. ;)

I don't know ow to help you here, but i'm so sorry that happenned. It is always shocking to me to read over my medical recorRAB and see how little attention they are really paying to what I tell them.

Best of luck to you. i agree that you should point out the inacuracy and try to get the problem corrected.

Discos are awful, and you got through it! Take some time to give yourself credit for that.
