In basic training I stretched and tore a nerve (the Brachial Plexis) and because of this I ended up getting Muscular Atrophy. (Loss of strength and mass)

The Army put me on con leave for now, stating that I will either go to PTRP or get a discharge when I return. While on con leave, I went and saw a doctor that specializes in these kinds of injuries and the doctor told me that it'll take about seven months to recover from it fully, and to request a discharge so that I could see a specialist for it or try and get the Army to send me to a specialist for the injury. I go back May 14th, and I'm wondering what exactly could happen when I return?

Would I get a discharge for this or will I have to sit around for 7 months in PTRP before anything happens?
