My Mom is 79 years old and in good health other than her bad back (herniated disK) w/ severe leg and knee (thigh) pain..

She has tried physical therapy, accupuncture and is still in tremendous pain..She also has osteoarthritis....Can anyone share any positive stories of their parents having had this surgery...or any frienRAB.??? Just a discectomy, not a fusion or lamenectomy.

Many thanks...much appreciated.

I am 56 years old and had a laminectomy and discectomy. I am so glad to have the leg pain gone. Nothing else except surgery worked for me. I ran into a friend of mine at the hospital whose elderly mother had surgery and she did very well.

I am also 54 and 9 months ago had a fusion, laminectomy..the works...My Mom is suffering from a herniated disk...Many thanks for your response...appreciate it...
