What memory usage doubled, RAM or the space on your SD card? How much free RAM do you have now compared to what you believe you had before the hard reset? Why did you have to do a hard reset? Did you do an automatic restore after the hard reset or did you restore programs manually?
If you did an automatic restore, there's no way that you could end up with more programs using more memory than you had on your Palm before the hard reset since the last hotsync. The only thing that would make any sense is that you deleted some programs or data since your last hotsync and before the hard reset. If that's the case, the restore hotsync would put back the programs and data you had deleted.
