Dirt Bike Transmission (Can't shift after putting cover back on)?

I recently took apart my transmission to replace the gasket. I have a XL 175 and when I try and put the cover back on, it won't shift gears. The clutch pedal is attached to the cover and can't figure out how to position it when I put it back on. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks
