dirt bike through water and stalled?

i was riding my 1985 yz250 through water in the trails with my friend on the back and we went through a kinda deep water hole but nothing big and it stalled out and now i can't get it started and i had to push it home?!?!
what could be the prob?
i changed the sparkplug and it started up for like 20 seconds and than bogged down and stalled out by the time i got out of my driveway..i think there is water in it maby because i drained the gas and where i spilled it,it turned whitish like a goo,and i think thats where the water separated from the gas and oil mix..
please any help

Take the carby out and give it a clean. Your air filter could be wet as well. You could also have water across your main jet so blow the carby out as well.
