dirt bike racing....what do you think?

iwan to get into racing, i am 16 about 5'3.. i got what need such as
Helmet,
goggles,
jersey,
chest protector,
gloves,
pants and
boots.
now. i was thinking about getting a CRF150R... what do you think

(i already know how to ride just want to race now)
 
Sorry but you are too old for that bike as you have to move on from that section at 16. It would be a great starting point and you could possibly finish the year out on the bike but then you would need a bigger bike which would make it a bit difficult for you as you are not all that tall. I am assuming that you are male as sometimes allowances are made for female classes. But otherwise you would have to look at the likes of the lites class being the 2 stroke 125cc bikes and the 4 stroke 250F's. But contact where you intend to race at as different countries do have different rulings. Normally I would suggest a person your age would have to have the 250f but at the height you are you may well be better off with the 2 stroke as while the height difference is not much the 2 stroke is a little lighter for a smaller rider. The 2 strokes usually don't do as well against the 4 strokes but the idea would be to get your foot in the door and get some seat time and if you know how to ride already then you should be alright. You can trim the seat down on what you get and use blocks on the start line. The suspension can be adjusted as well
