Directors' "Catch-Phrases"

You know the way that some directors do a particulat thing (be it a phrase or a cameo appearence) in their films -
John Landis always has the phrase "See you next Wednesday" somewhere in all his films, and Hitchcock always did a cameo.
Are there any other directors who do this ?
I believe Spielberg always had a shooting star, but I don't think it is in ALL his films.

Not really a trademark as such - more a recurring motif - but there's an alarming number of scenes set in toilets/washrooms in Stanley Kubrick's ouvre.

Spielberg always has a shooting star in the background on night sky shots, such as Jaws when Quint is on the ramp after the first barrel chase.... Indiana Jones has a few.
Manly the action/adventure films he has done......
