Ive been reading up on direct commissions in the reserve, i'm currently enlisted e-5 thats about to get my bachelors. I read that the direct commissions are only for those that majored or hold jobs in the medical, law, etc. pretty much combat support areas. Thing is im a 19d which is combat arms, so if i were to drop my packet would i even get a direct commission or would i have to go through OCS. Would they let me get a direct commission and allow me to switch my MOS to a different officer branch like quartermaster or transportation, and also my degree im getting isnt anything like the support jobs ive read on, so would i even qualify for it.
P.S please dont say go ask a recruiter because i have and he was useless so were the officers in my unit because non of them knew anything on the subject.
