I bought a 42 inch Panasonic Viera High Definition TV in December. I have noticed that when a character moves against a black backround, the backround seems to shimmer or move leaving digital artifacts or ghosts until the scene moves to a lighter backround. This can't be normal. It happens in both standard and high-def. I currently have it set to Custom picture mode - would changing to Standard picture mode improve the problem? Standard being less bright than what I have it set to now. Would a HDMI video connection be better? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
