Last I heard the Dell Axim X50 was the "hot one;" of course that was a month ago so things have changed.
IPAQ Models vary greatly and I don't know enough on the details - nor am I a "Dell" fan -- but apparently the Axim, from reviewers (pro "sales article" types and real customers alike) is rated top notch.
I couldn't do without my Teal stuff, older palm os proggies or Bonsai/Agendus - but if you don't need those (and many don't) the advantages of PPC are definitely there. Believe it or not portable Excel sheets are a problem if you want the same versatility as on a Palm - and yet I've dumped Docs2Go and gone back to "TinySheet," which I bought 2 years ago, and it renders sheets better and is easier and faster to work on - as well as 1/5th the size.
Reason I say that: there must by now be some "killer" PPC program that would match most Palm needs for any application - and there is a ton of freeware available for PPC as well, now.
I love Palm - rabid Palm fan, at least the older stuff through the T3 - but 1) that period is OVER, and 2) if I had had the trouble you did (and others on here) with MY T3, I'd go with either a Tapwave Zodiac Z2 or a Dell Axim/equivalent. Don't be "clock speed crazy" as most buyers are . . . look for dependability track record, good display and multiple slots -- you can tweak the rest yourself. All the best with whatver you decide.
