Diffusion of acid through agar jelly?

What happens to cubes of agar jelly in hydrochloric acid at temperatures...
60 degrees?
50 degrees?
40 degrees?
30 degrees?

I know that pink agar jelly turns clear QUICKER in higher temperatures of hydrochloric acid but why? and how does diffusion take place between the agar jelly and hydrochloric acid?

ANY help would be appreciated. Thanks :)
