Difficulties with Active Sync and Google on my Windows Mobile 6.1 Phone?

I have a Samsung Code and I've never had any trouble using active sync to sync my Google calendar and emails to my phone's calendar and outlook applications. Recently, I changed my gmail password. I changed it on my phone too, but it keeps telling me that my exchange server credentials are not correct. I even performed a hard reset on my cell phone and tried to re-sync it, but I continued to get the same error. Now I can receive emails through IMAP or POP but I cannot receive them through active sync, which is aggravating as I cannot get my calendar appointments on my phone. Anyone know how to remedy this situation
