different posture for different dances, ballet, tango, belly-dance, ballroom?

I learnt ballet first, so I always tuck in my bum a lot. Perhaps too much, my pilates teacher thinks my spine is so straight I'll develop problems later. Anyway.

In tango class, my teacher told me to tilt my pelvis so that my bum sticks out MORE.

However, in belly-dance, the teacher wants the bum tucked under.

Is there no perfect posture for all dances? Or do you just have to change it according to the dance? Isn't pilates supposed to give you the healthiest posture for pain free living? Do any fitness instructors know which muscles I need to engage to stick out my bum more, without over-doing it?
