Different Frame sliders

Hi,
I saw this

Does anyone have any experience with them? I am quite tempted to get them for my track days.

Any comments?

i want to crash a pair of these and make sure they work, after that I'm down to start carrying these and offering a better price than the hefty 300 + dollars

looks a little scary relying on the crankcase cover but it could be safe...? Thats why I'm curious before I say anything for sure

I recall someone (?) mentioning before that these are bolted onto various points on the engine crankcase, meaning any impact will be transmitted to it. Given that the cast aluminium case is quite thin, and significanlty weaker than steel, cracked casings would be a real concern.

Most Ducati frame sliders bolt through the steel frame (and through the engine case, not on it) for this very reason......

I agree and my bigger concern would be the several guys who have swapped to mag. case covers...

But it does link to the frame and something else behind the frame, maybe another frame point?

I would be curious about some test feedback on these, who's the manufacture ?

Never mind.....GSG-Moto Framesliders , I'll contact them. They look a little exspinsive.

Could be very costly experiment as the slider that boltsd to the clutch side could not only take out the cover but the engine case creating a complete tear down and requiring some VERY expensive parts.

Actually, these sliders are pretty trick.
They DO NOT rely on the crankcase cover, or the clutch cover for support.
The bolt through the frame and the engine at two points (two engine mounting bolts are replaced with high strength threaded rods that they provide). A very solid solution.
The big plus is that they do not require any cutting of the body panels.
The other fastening points that you see with the small cap screws all use spacers behind them. The actaul sliders use a rubber damping button behind them.

There is a downside however. The way they are built and the spacers provided will only work with a OEM clutch cover as far as I can tell.

I bought a set and started to get them mounted up when I discovered this little problem. I know I could have solved it with some different spacers and a little machining, but I elected to go in another direction (R&G with holes in the fairings).

The company that makes these - GSG-Moto, is very good at what they do. I have used their sliders on several bikes and never been disappointed.

The best price I have seen for them is from Streetfightersinc - around $ 260.00
Twisted Throttle is way high at $ 339.00

They also have a neat little "shock" protector that fits over the crash bobbin. It hides the bolt hole and provides enough protection for a simple tip over of the bike - without damaging the bobbin. These can be purchased separately - 3 for $ 25.00

I still have the set that I bought (however they have been painted red and black). If anyone is interested, I'll sell the set pretty reasonably. Drop me a PM with an offer and I'll send some photos of what I have.
