I'm a beginner looking to buy my first bike. Bicycle touring looks like something I'd definately be interested in doing later on (once I get more experience). I was wondering what, if any, are the differences, besides the extra storage space? Or, as a beginner, is it just stupid/naive for me to get a touring bike to begin with? I was looking at just getting a simple one speed road bike.
I think people misunderstood- because I realized I wrote this really oddly. I wasn't planning on getting a single speed for touring, I was planning on getting one if I didn't get a touring bike.
