I've read previous Q&A's about this but am hoping for something more current. I'm looking to buy a cheap, simple laptop that I'll only be using for browsing the web and doing my budget on Excel, possibly occasionally watching TV shows on sites such as Hulu.
My boyfriend has Vista and I am extremely turned off by it. It takes forever and a day to do anything.
In the little reading I've done about XP Home, I've read that the security features aren't great. I'm not sure exactly how so--network security? Antivirus weakness?
Which OS is better for me and why? I am compelled to stick with XP because I'm used to it and I've been turned off by Vista's slowness and constantly prompting to accept or cancel programs, but if I'm missing something vital that Vista offers and XP Home does not, please let me know. Thanks!
