Dietary supplements/protein, should i buy?

i would really want to gain some weight, and hopefully, work out enough so im not fat, but at least toned.
From what you guys heard about dietary supplements such as whey protein, protein shakes, and creatine, which one is better? (and really, what is the difference between protein drink and creatine)
i dont want to be super muscular or something, i just want a product that is enough for me to gain weight.
if so, can you specify which kind of product (name of company) is it, because there are thousands of protein shakes, so please specify on the brand that you suggest to buy
